February 23, 2010

I finally went out and got my humidifier that the eye dr. wanted me to get for my eye comfort.  I have dry eyes and the humidifier is suppose to help take the dry air out of the house and make it more comfortable.
We'll see.  But here is the new toy.

They had some that were shaped like a Penquin.  I would have opted for that one but Scott said I needed a more adult machine.  He is such a killjoy.

February 22, 2010

Ok, I have decided that I really need to get out more and walk and the Dr. wants me to walk up and down stairs.  So about three blocks from the house  is a set of stairs that I can hike up and down on.  So over I walked and I went down and up three times.  It wasn't too bad.  I even got to practice alternating legs as I went down.  I have had a phobic fear of going down stairs alternating feet because I have fallen down my daughter's stairs a few months after my surgery.  So Stairs have intimidated me.  I decided it was time to get over that and practice up and down.

Down, Up, Down Up, and Down and Up.  Actually it took more work to go up then to go down.  LOL.

Another beautiful day here in MA.  I took a walk around the block.  Some of the trees are starting to bud up and you know that means spring is in the air.  I took this picture and was surprised to see the two birds that I had also captured.

These wrens or sparrows, not sure what, but they stay here all through the Winter.  HIding in the thickest bushes with snow all around.  They sure are a harder bunch of birds.

February 20, 2010

I had to run some errands and the weather was absolutely beautiful.  We are just  a little bit into the 50's.  It's like spring weather.  At the neighborhood school near my house the children had decorated two trees outside with hearts made of material and stuffed.  It was very pretty.

It was sort of cheerful to see such bright little things in the drearyness of Winter.

February 19, 2010

Last day of Jay's week off.  Both kids came over to play at Grandma's.  Somehow, I went into the bathroom and when I came out the two kids had managed to knock over my rocking slider chair and were giggling away as they sat in it upside down.  although they were right side up.  They have no idea how dangerous this was.  They could have gotten hurt when it fell over but thank goodness they didn't.  So they were having a wonderful time.

Oz finally told me that he did it.  He was trying to figure out how it could rock.  It didn't look like his rocking chair at home so he was curious.  He had lifted it up and over it went.  They sure had fun.

February 18, 2010

Got a break today from watching Jay.  Her Daddy took her Ice Skating in Harvard Yard.  So I got to sleep all day and rest.  My cold is starting to feel better.  I finally downloaded all the stuff I needed onto the computer so that it could read the new camera and I can upload pictures.  This took a while because I sometimes work slow on computer stuff.  But I have succeeded (Otherwise you would not have the pictures posted for the previous days.)    Took this picture of Teemu.  Scott was trying to get her paws all folded up into her chest.

February 17, 2010

I have pain pills for my tooth and then I am just coping with this darn cold.   The kids help me to not think on it.  The coughing is the worse.  Today I have both kids all day and so we went to the indoor play ground and played for 4 hours.   Here is Jay chasing her brother.  Oh we made the shirts in the morning.  We ironed on the designs,  It was easy to find them in the bright yellow shirts.

February 16, 2010

Missed several days due to this miserable cold.  I have Jay all week because she is on Winter break.  So today she made puppets and put on the cutiest puppet show.

got lots of pictures for scrapping too.  Yeah.

February 12, 2010

Had a wisdom and another tooth pulled yesterday.  So feeling very sore.  Coming down with the cold that the kids had.  KIds are over.  They have so much fun here.

You can tell when my grandkids are over because all the toys are everywhere.  Oz decided this would make a great boat.

February 10, 2010

Well I am playing with my new camera.  Here is Hannah.  With my other Camera I could never really get a good shot so you could really see her.  I figured it was because she is a black cat but the contrast here works great.

Feb 9 2010

Actually I didn't take this picture, my Son - in - law did.  But it is so cute I just have to put it up.  Oz loves to help his daddy.

Paul said it took longer to get him dressed to go outside then it did to shovel the porch.

Going to catch up today. Here is February 8, 2010

I pick Jay up from school on Monday's and she gets to go to Starbucks with me and have a Hot Chocolate or juice and a treat while I get my Mocha Frappichino.  She was not feeling well when I picked her up.  When we got to my house, I knew she was sick because she just laid on my couch.  Poor baby.  I wish children didn't have to get sick.

Temporarily out of commission

I realize that I haven't posted since Feb 6th (?) and it is almost two weeks later.  Well I was so excited, I finally got enough money together to buy my christmas gift.......My new camera.    I got a Nikon D3000.  It totally intimidates me.  So I have been playing with it.  BUT also at the same time I had two teeth pulled, one a tiny wisdom, (Probably all that I have left) and been on pain pills and then I got Jay's bad cold and have been under the weather with that and not felt up to posting anything.  I have taken some pictures.  Now I am feeling guilty about  not posting and so I am forcing myself to be here.  I had to figure out how to download my pictures from the camera onto the computer and that took two days.  It would have been less I am sure but feeling crappy, you give up easier.  So look for my pictures and posts,  I will catch up.

February 6, 2010

I baby sat the kids so that Paul, Brandeis and Scott could go to the movies and see Avatar.  The kids and I had a lot of fun.  We watch Madagascar and then they played.  Ozzie fell into the bookcase and hurt his ear.  I loved him up and he was so cute........He said he needed his Daddy.  From there the kids decided to play Dr.  So Oz pretended he had a broken leg and Jay was the Dr.  She said she was Dr. Rabbit and had to dress the part.

February 5, 2010

Today I got Oz for the afternoon and then I had to go get Jay at school.  We did our usual tradition of going to Starbucks after school.   Then we came home and the kids played with the mood sand.  Oz did not get to play with this before and he had a ball.  Moon Sand looks like sand but when you mush it together it becomes solid.  Then it goes back to sand when you crumble it.  The best part is, it is very easy to clean up.

Oz finally took all of them and mushed them together in one huge pile.  He came and told me he made a big mess.  He sure did but it was easy to clean up.  The kids thought we had to throw it all away but I surprised them by putting it all back in the containers.  I only had to vacuum up what went on the floor.

February 4, 2010

I had to go to the eye Dr. today to do a field test on my eyes.  it was interesting.  I had to watch for the lights and click when I saw them.   I have dry eyes and need to have plugs put in the drainage opening for your tears so the moisture I do have stays.  I also have to use eye drops.  I have tried 3 of them now.  So far this one seems to be working the best for me.

I had thought that it was just allergies that made my eyes itch or feel like something was in it.  So now I have to use these eye drops every two hours or more or what ever.  I just use it when I remember now.  Sometimes it is every two hours  depending on what I remember.  LOL

February 3, 2010

Today I have Ozzie.  I had him all day long as Mommy had meetings to go to.  So I looked on line for some indoor play areas and found one in Watertown.  So off we went.  Oz fell asleep so I waited in the car for him to wake up.  He got a goo 40 min. nap.  He had a wonderful time and I will take his sister and him back there.   When we left, Oz tells me he is going to bring his family here.  Such an adult sentence.

I really like this place because it was so nice and clean on the floor.  Lots of toys to play with.

February 2, 2010

I wish I had a picture of a groundhog.  Today he saw his shadow and so supposedly we get 6 more weeks of winter.  YEAH!!!!!!  I know I know, you are not suppose to be cheering the cold weather.  I love it.  Today I had to go see Dr. Paul.  He wanted to polish up his work he did the other day.

While I was there we had some snow flurries.  It was nice to watch it fall.

February 1, 2010

Another day with Jacqueline.  I go and pick her up at school.  Every time I get there she is always doing this.

She loves to draw.  Her and the other cute little girls in her class.  Jay was drawing a dinosaur long neck eating leaves off of a palm tree.  It was very detailed.   I should have taken a picture of it.  Darn sometimes you miss the really good pictures.  Oh well.

January 31, 2010

Normally I go to visit my friend Judy on Thursdays but this week I had to go up on Sunday.  I made another hat, scarf and mittens for her church knitting group that do a lot of needle work for charity.  Judy needed to deliver them on Monday.  So up I went.  One of the great things about living here in the East is all the wonderful old items that they have standing around as decorations.  Here is one of the cannons that was used to protect the Merrimac river area in Newburyport.
